Music Therapy
Music Therapy Program At St. Raphael Elementary, our Music Therapy Program provides students with a unique opportunity to explore music as a tool for learning, self-expression, and personal growth. Through singing, rhythm, movement, instrument play, and creative musical activities, students are encouraged to develop communication skills, build self-confidence, and strengthen social connections. Music therapy supports students in expressing emotions, improving focus and attention, developing motor skills, and fostering positive interactions with others. In a safe and supportive environment, each child is encouraged to participate at their own pace while discovering the joy and benefits of making music. By combining creativity with therapeutic support, the Music Therapy Program helps students develop skills that contribute to their overall well-being and success both in and out of the classroom.

Art Therapy
We all need a little encouragement and a proper outlet to express ourselves and release our emotions creatively. This is even more important in the classroom where students are experiencing a wide variety of stressors and strain on their mental capacity. Incorporating art therapy techniques into your lesson plans can help reduce anxiety, and allow students to process and visualize what they are feeling to better understand it and share/feel more connected with their peers.
Hip Hop Dance
The Hip Hop Program provides students with an engaging and creative outlet through movement, music, and self-expression. Designed to be both energetic and inclusive, the program encourages students to develop coordination, rhythm, and body awareness while building confidence in a supportive environment. Through learning choreography and participating in group performances, students strengthen teamwork, cooperation, and communication skills. The program also encourages creativity by allowing students to express their individuality and develop their own unique style through movement. More than just a dance program, Hip Hop offers students an opportunity to stay active, build positive relationships with their peers, and experience the joy of working together toward a common goal. By combining physical activity with artistic expression, the program helps students grow socially, emotionally, and creatively.
Pet Therapy
Pet therapy is a guided interaction between an individual and a trained animal. It also involves the animal’s handler. Pet therapy builds on the pre-existing human-animal bond. Thanks to this natural relationship, pet therapy can aid progress toward goals in human physical, social, emotional, and cognitive function.
Journey
Hello,
My name is Journey and I am a 4 year old Golden Retriever. I am calm, laid back, and enjoy interacting with others…. especially St. Raphael students!
I attend St. Raphael School every day to spend time with the students and staff. My favourite thing is to see the students smile and eyes gleam when they get to spend time with me….. and of course the belly rubs and walks! I go from class to class, sit in class lessons, listen to stories, and comfort anyone who needs me.
Lots of love,
Journey
